Drawings on the Black Line

(Proto-JazzArt de 2008, FBC, Omnia Caelum Studios Valencia. Derechos Reservados)

The black line is alive and creates magic on the paper or the canvas, or on your skin…

To paint is to defy the laws of physics and science because magic is not empirical, it just is…

Talent is hard work to the nth degree…

Creativity is common in everyone, but desire to create is not…

Are painters artists? Or are they simply workers of that craft?

Is there such a thing as a self-taught individual? Doesn’t everyone learn from something or someone?

Is poetry edible? If people think artists are «starving artists», well, maybe they are not, maybe they eat their own work…

Is Jazz a style of music or of art?

What is a style anyways? Why do people fuss so much about the «style» of the artist? To create a style is the simplest thing in the world, all you have to do is repeat yourself ad nauseam…

What do you think of art?

Is failure a symptom or a learning experience?

Sundays Music on a Saturday! «Happy» by Steve Alaimo/»Indian Reservation» by Paul Revere & The Raiders

(Photo: Studio portrait 1960. Gilles Petard/Redferns/Getty)

I remember this song from the days when I first arrived to Miami as a wee lad of about seven and a half years old. I think Steve Alaimo was a local talent…

There used to be a programme in the afternoons that we all watched after we got home from school called Where the Action Is produced by Dick Clark and Steve Alaimo was one of the regulars, along with Paul Revere & the Raiders…

(circa 1966/67)

I may be wrong but back in the day when «Indian Reservation» was released, I don’t think there were many groups playing protest songs…

(1971)

This was not a bad band, I think the costumes made them look a bit ridiculous but the music was spot on…

What do you think? Do you remember these songs? This singer? This band?

Poem Euro-Ku: “Time”

(Photo by and property of FBC, Omnia Caelum Studios València. All Rights Reserved)

Time is the concept by which we measure our ineptitudes.

We’ve given time value, though it’s abstract.

We’ve given time power though it’s an illusion, like the one a bird sees before it takes flight.
