To one who saved my life one day,
from somewhere close, but far away,

with care and thought and expert skill,

one shot one kill

An Euro-Ku is what I call a Haiku done by a Westerner with a Western mentality but recognising and utilising the Eastern form of poetry and philosophical expression. In other words, adapting it to our way of thinking.

The Euro-Ku, as well as the Ameri-Ku (same idea but with an American mentality), must also contain three lines, however they can be as long as the writer needs or wants them to be. One important difference is that they must tell a clear, and simple story or complete thought. They must paint the picture with words clearly and with a fluid form of expression. Objectivity is the ideal here. Lastly, it must include a photograph or picture, original or done by someone who has ceded their rights to you that somehow, directly or indirectly refers to the text of the three lines.

That is basically it. The rules of the Euro-Ku and I invite anyone to try it. You poets out there might like it. It is something different and poetry, like all other art forms, is the search…

Ya parece que llega el invierno a nuestro país donde se apagan fuegos pero aparecen otros… parece mentira que en un país como el nuestro aprueben una ley que le reduce la sentencia a los que cometen agresiones contra mujeres… la ley de sólo sí es si, no tiene sentido, primero porque fue ideada en un ministerio que no tiene razón de ser… es un bochorno…

«Art Digital», is how I refer to my own style of digital art. It can be done in many ways. I am sure that you, as an artist, has looked into it. There are programmes out there that will serve the purpose that work and can be quite useful in creating impressive digital images. But I like to start with the digital image of something that I have created or photographed. From there I take it to extremes, through manipulations, and look for my finished product. It is still art. It is still the search. It is still under the same rules, the same ideas and guidelines. Some of these might be considered straight out abstract art. Others are distinctly confusing, but figurative…

Dear Diary, page 888 (My Opinion)

Ok, so you never thought it could happen again but it damned well did! I woke up to the announcement today (we’re six hours ahead of EST) that Donald Trump was going to run for president again! I lived in the US in 2016 when he ran. Nobody that I knew thought he would win. Hell, we didn’t even think he would defeat Jeb Bush for the Republican nomination. Then when it looked like he would, we all said that was great because once he had to face Hillary he would certainly lose…

Then that night, I was watching the election results with a group of friends and we started seeing state after state going to Trump, and Florida (I lived in Florida at the time) going in the same direction. My friends all thought that once the count was finished in Broward and Miami-Dade Counties that Hillary would be declared the winner. But that did not happen. Needless to say, we all know what happened.

Now I remember that a lot of people during that election, did not vote. I heard many were not really in favour of Hillary and some just were too apathetic to get up and do their civic duty. The lack of support for the Democratic candidate gave Trump the push forwards.

I know, because of the clear and unquestionable results of 2020, that the majority of citizens of the US do not want Trump back in office. They demonstrated it by electing Joe Biden, a good man, an honest man, but a very old man, too old to face the stress and the difficulties of running such a nation. But it had to be because another term for Trump was just unthinkable.

So, I no longer live in the US. I have come back to my own country (Spain), but I’ve many good friends there and even family and I don’t want them to go through another four years of the disaster that Trump brought to that country. But yet I wonder… Are people going to do what they did in 2016 and just not vote, or what they did in 2020, which guaranteed that a man like Trump would be out of office?

Like I said, I don’t live there anymore, but…

Parece que al perro no lo dejan entrar y mira desde el murito con ganas de meterse al agua… El perro está quizá pensando en que comer y en lo caro que se ha puesto todo. Esta foto no la he hecho yo, ha sido de una colaboradora de Turquía, pero desde que la vi supe que había algo especial en esa imagen… Será que estamos todos como ese perro, con la cabeza apoyada en algo incomodo, esperando a ver que nos va a pasar, o que se nos viene encima…

Comparando los precios de las cosas ahora al 2019 notamos que todo ha subido enormemente. Al principio se notaban que las cosas se acareaban por unos céntimos, pero unos céntimos por aquí y otros por allá y vamos, la vida se nos va haciendo cada vez más y más cara… Y no se quedó en céntimos la cosa siguieron disparados los precios, el de la luz, el gas, el agua, la comida, los carburantes (repostar cuesta un pastón), la carne, el pescado, el alquiler et cetera et cetera…

Todo lo que se refiere al coste de la vida ha subido, no se el porcentaje porqu e no soy economista, pero substancialmente en los últimos dos años, y ¿Que ha hecho el gobierno? ¿Nada? No, el gobierno si ha actuado. Después de deliberar, pensar y saber que mas, el presidente y sus ministros han tomado cartas en el asunto y han creado un «Black Friday» de puras rebajas… ¿Si? Claro que si, pero no te van a reducir a ti nada, lo que han hecho es reducir las condenas de los pillos, y de los chorizos… Mare meua!
