The boys recorded three records, two for Columbia and one for Liberty Records.

La Bailadora

Digo que hago «JaZzArt», pero, ¿Qué coño es eso? Jazz es música, baile, ritmo, ¿como va ser la pintura, los cuadros, el arte bi-dimensional, jazz? ¡Imposible! Pues no…

I just said I do «JaZzArt», but what the hell is that? Jazz is music, dance, rhythm, how is it going to be a painting, how is it going to be two-dimensional art? Impossible! Yet…

El Jazz se define como música en la cual se combinan tres factores: la improvisación, el músico como compositor y el ritmo (no se excluye ningún ritmo ni se precisa uno solo). Entonces, si le aplicamos esta fórmula, esta regla, a cualquier estilo de música, vemos como hay mucha música rock de los años 1960 que se ajusta a esa estructura, aunque las canciones no suenan nada como el swing the Louis Armstrong ni el Be-bop de Miles Davis. Pues esa fórmula es la que le aplico a mi trabajo artístico, a mis dibujos y pinturas, por eso son «JaZZArt».

Jazz is defined as music which is done with these three «ingredients»: improvisation, the player as composer, and rhythm, (there is no mention of a specific rhythm). So if we apply that same formula to other types of music, like the rock of the early 1960’s, we can say they are making jazz, although it does not sound like the swing of Louis Armstrong or the Be-bop of Miles Davis. So that is the formula I use in my art, therefore my drawings, and my paintings are «JaZzArt».

Pero, reconociendo que el arte es la búsqueda, no la abandonaré jamás. La paranoia me sigue, me habla, me indica el camino para desarrollar nuevas ideas, crear nuevos conceptos, criticar de manera idónea lo que hago, lo que pienso, lo que pinto, pues la pintura también es filosofía, psicología, matemática, física nuclear, en fin, una locura…

Because I recognise that art is the search, I will never abandon my search. Paranoia casts its shadow over me, she speaks to me, shows me the way towards the development of new ideas, towards developing new concepts, letting me be the ideal critic of what I do, what I think, what I paint. Because painting is philosophy, psychology, mathematics, nuclear physics, well, madness…

Esta imagen que veis, decidme, ¿es, o no es arte? Ademas quiero saber porque lo es, y porque no lo es. ¿Os va? Venga, pues contestad…

Aquí en Valencia, como en todas las ciudades de Europa, estamos plagado con un «virus» de mal gusto, de delincuencia, de atrevimiento, que no tiene nombre. Vale, si lo tiene, se llama vandalismo. Es una «pandemia» que se ha extendido por todos los países y no tenemos vacuna.

¿Que os parecen estas imagenes, fotos que he tomado por las calles de mi ciudad?

Lo mas patético es que artistas como Banksy, y otros «grafiteros» que andan por ahí salvando la civilización, si, porque son «anti-sistema» y tienen que violar la ley para ser reconocidos, son los que están llenando las calles de su «arte» e inspirando a otros, a esos desconocidos delincuentes, a que hagan lo mismo. Claro, estos macarras no tienen el «talento» de los grafiteros clásicos como Keith Haring, Basquiat o el propio Banksy, pero hacen el mismo daño, y dañan ademas la atmósfera utilizando esos aerosoles.

Here in Valencia, like in all European cities, we are plagued with this «virus» of bad taste, of delinquency, and of disrespect which is un-nameable. Ok, yes it does have a name, vandalism. This is a «pandemic» that has extended throughout all the countries and we’ve no vaccine against it.

It is quite pathetic that artists such as Banksy and the other «graffiti artists» that abound and that think they are saving civilisation…yes, because they are «anti-establishment» and thus they can break the law to be recognised…are the ones filling our streets with their «art» and inspiring others to do so as well. They are role models to unknown delinquents that follow in their footsteps and think they have the right to destroy private and/or public property. Of course, the law-breakers you see above do not have the «talent» of the classic graffiti artists such as Keith Haring, Basquiat or Banksy, but they do the same harm and harm as well the environment using those powerful aerosols.
