Venga, pues una vez mas estoy…de visita…en Miami, donde comenzó mi carrera artística en 1998. En Miami comencé a pintar y en el 2000 abrí mi atelier/galería, Omnia Caelum Studios Miami y aquí viví y pinte muchos cuadros hasta que en 2018 decidí regresar a casa, València, España. Pero feliz estoy de haber regresado y me pasare un tiempillo que me dará tiempo para pintar algunos cuadros. Además estoy disfrutando del calorcito tropical de la Florida ya que para mi, el verano ha llegado en el mes de abril…

Well, I am once more…only for a visit…at the place where my art career began back in 1998. In 2000 I opened Omnia Caelum Studios Miami and it was where I lived and painted…and often travelled away from…until 2018 when I relocated to my place of origins, València, Spain. So I am happy to be here and I will be here long enough to paint and to enjoy the warm weather. I am also happy that for me summer came in April…

Aquí os muestro dos cuadros que he guardado en mi casa de Miami y que jamás he expuesto ni jamás se los he ofrecido a los coleccionistas.

Here are some of the paintings from the years before 2005 that I had kept in my place here in Miami. These paintings I have never exhibited and never offered to collectors.

Gisela Tabú lo he pintado en el 1998, en acuarela sobre cartulina y mide 50 x 90 cm. Gisela fue un personaje de una obra que escribí y que se puso en Miami en 1993. Monse (la inspiración de Monse Jazz) fue la actriz que hizo el papel de Gisela en la obra, así que los dos cuadros están bien relacionados…

En el 2021 pinté la segunda de la serie de Gisela, Gisela Tabú II y ya le pertenece a un coleccionista francés. En 2022 pinté la tercera Gisela, Gisela Tabú III y ese cuadro lo tengo en España, esperando que un coleccionista se lo lleve. Gisela Tabú I painted in 1998 in watercolours on cardboard. It measures 50 x 90 cm and it reflects a character, Gisela, from a play, «Alas», that I wrote in 1993 and Monse Jazz is tied to Gisela Tabú because Gisela is Monse, and Monse is Gisela…

(I’ve continued the series and in 2021 I painted Gisela Tabú II (which is in a private collection in France) and in 2022 I painted Gisela Tabú III (which is in Spain awaiting a new home with a collector). Both of these paintings you can see in my Instagram: @Francisco_Bravo_Cabrera or @Guloshka.

that those reflections, bright as stars,

stars that dance, stars that move, stars that float upon the water like a dream, are just reflections in my eyes that I have seen…

Venga, elegir los artistas que no me gustan es fácil, pero colocarlos en un top 10 es imposible porque para mi todos ocupan el primer lugar, sin dudas.

Algunos de estos artistas los considero como buenos obreros del arte, o sea que conocen su trabajo y saben pintar, otros para mi son aficionados, amateurs, pero bueno, no quiero faltarle el respeto. Además, juzgo solo el arte, el trabajo que han hecho, que no me gusta, y no a la persona, y como no los conozco personalmente no tengo porque pensar que fueron, o son, buenas personas, gente educada y con buenos modales. Aunque para mi no valen mucho, reconozco que el trabajo de muchos de estos artistas hoy en día se cotiza muy caro y los coleccionistas pagan un pastón por esas obras. Que las disfruten…

It is rather easy for me to choose my least favourite artists, however it is almost impossible to make a «top 10» or something similar because they all share the number one spot, for sure.

Some of these artists I do recognise their craftsmanship and discipline, as well as their crafty ways of getting into the limelight, so do not get me wrong, I do not mean to be disrespectful. And this has nothing to do with these artists as persons, I didn’t know any of them so as far as I know they are nice people, respectful and mindful of their manners. My judgement only concerns their artwork. Like I said, some of them were professionals and some complete amateurs. However, they are recognised internationally and by the art world and their work now sells for quite a bundle.

Estic en Miami!

In Miami!

I’m not bothering with the names on these paintings, it’s minimalist art and who needs names. It’s a short video, I think you will understand why. But Minimalism is part of Art History and a vanguard of the 20th Century. Piet Mondrian is, in my opinion, the best representative of this movement.

This was one of my paintings of the early 2000’s. It is a small painting done with acrylics on canvas and sold a long time ago to a collector in Miami. Now, (since artists reserved the rights to reproduce images of their work), I have decided to allow the image to become a collectable print and it is available here, through Fine Art America .

Some may say that a nature photograph of a sunset or sunrise is one of the most beautiful views one can photograph. Well, I think so too and I try to find them as I travel the world. This one was a sunset over the Aegean Sea taken from the coast of Turkey. Now I have decided to make some of my personal photography into fine art prints.
