Pintor italiano del renacimiento nacido en 1445 en Florencia.

Se le conoce por sus representaciones de temas mitológicos, pero pintó muchos cuadros religiosos también, incluyendo decenas de Madonas y hasta algunos retratos. Sus cuadros mas conocidos son el Nacimiento de Venus y La primavera. Botticelli se pasó la vida entera en su barrio de Florencia, apartándose solo en dos ocasiones, primero en 1474 cuando fue a pintar a Pisa y luego en 1481 a Roma para pintar la capilla Sixtina.

Sandro Botticelli murió en mayo de 1510.

Italian Renaissance painter born in Florence in 1445.

He is known for his mythological themes but in fact he painted many religious themes as well and dozens of Madonna and Child. He even painted a few portraits. His most famous works are Birth of Venus and Primavera. Botticelli lived his entire life in his neighbourhood in Florence. He only took two trips, one in 1474 to paint in Pisa and then in 1481 he went to Rome to paint the Sistine Chapel.

Sandro Botticelli died in Florence in 1510.
