searching inside for a look at the soul,
the soul that they hide in their watery eyes
in the faces I see passing by…

Where are the feelings, the thoughts, the emotions?
Hidden in wrinkles designed by the passing of years?
In the storms,
the soft breezes,
the kiss on the cheek,
on each cheek placing kisses
as a gentle reminder,
of a soothing refrain
or an old melody to the beat of the drops of the rain,
the rain that will wash away fears,
of the train that approaches,
and getting quite near
removing the shame and the guilt from your face,
as you finally run to get out of this place…

The second and third are the looks of regret,
the way the earth looks under water and wet,
when you stand on a pebble and dream
knowing life isn’t just what it seems…

l’anima che nascondono nei loro occhi acquosi
nei volti che vedo passare…

Dove sono i sentimenti, i pensieri, le emozioni?
Nascosti nelle rughe disegnate dal passare degli anni?
Nelle tempeste,
nelle brezze leggere,
nel bacio sulla guancia,
su ogni guancia posando baci
come gentile promemoria,
di un ritornello rassicurante
o di una vecchia melodia al ritmo delle gocce di pioggia,
la pioggia che laverà via le paure,
del treno che si avvicina,
e che ormai è molto vicino
rimuovendo vergogna e colpa dal tuo viso,
mentre finalmente corri per uscire da questo posto…

Il secondo e il terzo sono sguardi di rimpianto,
come la terra appare sotto l’acqua, bagnata,
quando ti fermi su un ciottolo e sogni
sapendo che la vita non è solo ciò che sembra…
