The «Me Too» folks in the US (and perhaps anywhere else where they exist) are now after Pablo Picasso. They claim that he abused women, that he mistreated women and that he was a macho man bad guy. Well, I say Picasso died fifty years ago and none of these women…supposed victims…ever complained about him to anyone. So, if the supposed victims did not complain, no one should be doing that now. He is and will always be the art genius of the XXth Century and he was after all a man of the XIXth Century. These man-hating feminists should stop talking nonsense about men from other times and concentrate on the problems that exist in this time, the present. The past does not pertain to them. It’s enough! Everyone should stop blaming people of other times for ills, crimes and bad things of our own times. Each epoch in history handled itself as it saw fit and they do not need any reconstruction from folk from ours. In any event, if the term «feminism» can be used and shouted from the mountain tops, so can the term «Machista», what is good for the one is good for the other. If one term does not hurt anyone the other one shouldn’t either. And there is no such thing as «gender violence,» there is domestic violence or inter-personal violence but no gender is hard-wired to be violent against the other one. Violence is violence, that is all.

Leonora Carrington was classified as a surrealist painter, however, she was much more than just that. She painted mythology, history, literature and she wrote extensively and sculpted. She thrived in Mexico City and died in her home there in 2011. She was a true feminist, not one of those dedicated to the destruction of the male gender, and a founding member of the Feminist Movement of Mexico which began in the 1970’s.

You see, the thing about music is that it is organic, it is developing, growing, making new sounds, renewing itself and reaching beyond expectations. Musicians that you love, because you love their style or type of music, listen to much more music than you do, and they listen to many styles that you don’t even probably care for. That is what keeps them growing, and keeps you buying their work, which you should as we all should support art in any way that it comes…
Well, with «Mississippi Queen» by Mountain you can hear all of that hard work… Rock music evolved (and not a reference to Darwin) and developed with the artistry of all those who participated, that continue to participate and will participate always because Rock and Roll is here to stay and Rock and Roll will never die!
Enjoy…

This photograph, that I took about a year or two before I left Miami, shows what I regarded as my backyard… Now it is a Fine Art Print, and this is the «metal print» option. There are more at my gallery at Fine Art America, the company I have chosen to sell my images as fine art prints. They handle the entire transaction and ship quickly to you.
