¡Gracias!

If I’ve not replied or been able to read your posts in these days it is because we, our team from Omnia Caelum Studios València is at the art exhibition. We will be here until Sunday 23 OCT. Please forgive our lack of attention and please don’t lose the way to VALENCIARTIST where there will be new posts every day… Thank you!
This is quite a significant and important number and I wonder why Paul chose this age to give himself in the song «When I’m Sixty Four.»
Sixty four is divisible 7 times by these numbers: 64, 32, 16,8,4,2,1. Seven times, and seven is also a «magical» number. Seven days of the week for example and other things but we’re talking about 64.
64 is the square of the number 8, which is the number of infinity…
There are 64 squares on a chess table as there are 64 hexagrams in the I-Ching. The 64th hexagram is called «Before Completion» and it signifies that change is imminent and our life is about to undergo significant transformations.
In Astrology it is a lucky number for those born under the Sun sign Libra.
In the year 64 A.D. in Rome, Seneca proclaimed the equality of all men, including slaves.
There are 64 generations from Noah to Jesus Christ…
The song «When I’m Sixty-Four» was written by Paul McCartney when he was 14 years old, one of the first songs he ever wrote. Although the «official» explanation is that the song is about ageing and about wondering what your «other half» will do with you when you turn 64, I don’t think it’s that simple. Paul McCartney, even a young Paul, never wrote silly love songs, or did he?
In any event the song is nice, it has interesting lyrics and it focuses on age 64, which is really not that old. I found out that in BINGO, in the US, number sixty four is referred to as «almost retired.» Yet, being 64 does not mean that you are a useless old fart, and I wonder why Paul chose that number…
“Atrévete” (“Dare” or “Be Bold”) is the name and theme of my first exhibition in València. I have been invited by the city to exhibit in one of the city’s beautiful museums, Sala d’Exposicions de Ciutat Vella, in the heart of València. We opened the exhibition on the 12th of October, our national feast day, and we close on Sunday, 22 OCT 2023.
Since Thursday we’re happy and blessed to say we’ve had so far over 600 visitors to the museum.

I no longer believe in art galleries, unless it is your own. Galleries used to exist to promote their contracted artists, to see them grow and develop, and to bring quality, creativity, and artistic talent to the public. Nowadays, they are nothing more than stores for paintings. The big and famous ones are only interested in the biggest and most famous artists (not necessarily the most talented or the best) and heavily sponsor them so that the rich investors won’t lose money if their works start to decline. Nowadays, the best gallery is the internet. In it, you manage yourself, sell yourself, promote yourself, in short, whatever you want, and you can always be sure that you will reach the whole world.
But…
I believe that the artist cannot, and should not, isolate himself too much from the people, his clientele, or potential clientele. The artist is a man of the people, as Aristotle said, Άνθρωπος του λαού – Ánthropos tou laoú, so holding public exhibitions is very important for an artist.
I have had the joy of being accepted by the City Council of Valencia (Ajuntament de València) and finally, I have my first exhibition in my city. I am very grateful to the many friends who have come to help me plan such a work. And believe me, setting up an exhibition is quite a task.
And many thanks to the great team at Omnia Caelum Studios Valencia and to our dear friends who have greatly contributed to the success of this exhibition, «Atrévete«. A big kiss (we don’t believe a kiss is a crime so…) and a warm hug to everyone.
