Hey Francisco. I agree with your 4 bullets of grievances with conceptual art — it’s not my favorite either. Here in New Orleans, I just had a Brit visitor who had worked some years at London’s Tate Modern, and you’ll be glad to know that I worked him pretty hard, hahaha. He shared some of our gripes, but I think he’d say we DO need to take it seriously, as it HAS changed the trajectory of art, at least to some significant extent — just as I, a literary scholar, might teach Joyce’s Ulysses as impactful even though I secretly want to strangle Joyce. Wish you were here so we three could have argued it out — as a true Brit, his expertise in art is matched by an equal expertise in ales, and I’m sure it would have been fun 🙂
