PALM TREE

In fact you can resist the wind.
You exist in lands of hurricanes.
You rise to block the sun.
An arrow thrust into the sand.
Fronds like
Aztec jade.

But where do your roots belong?
Clinging to the foundations
Of the Earth.
Travelling through
those grains of power.

I know you can resist the hurricane
because you too
become the storm.

Wonderfully written … Even the strongest storm cannot uproot what is deeply grounded.
