The sun rises every morning…at least we think so…from the east and the coffee maker (la cafetera) sits on top of the stove waiting for the fire so that the coffee can rise and do its phenomenal job of making my mind ready for a new day…
I do not utter a single word to anyone until I have had my first sip of coffee…
Just like the sun is the light that is useful to us for everything we do in the day, coffee is useful to clear the particles of dreams left behind in our heads and prepare us for the experiences we need in the waking time line of existence. Dreams are our experiences through other time lines. Don’t believe what the «experts» (good grief experts!) say. There are more mysteries in life than what they can even imagine…

Something to ponder about, Francesco. I get up in the early morning, always in a good mood, without coffee, and ready for the day ahead. Being happy, positive, and optimistic is my choice. Also, I don’t think anyone living with me should suffer the enforced silent mornings.

Sounds fab Joanna, I reckon some folks can handle mornings without coffee, I cannot seem to get there… and my silence is because of my self-talk, prayerful and meditative mood and it only lasts a few minutes because coffee is the first thing I do. 🙂

I feel this on a visceral level. My biggest struggle in the mornings is needing to make the coffee before I’ve had my coffee. This is why there are days when it goes spectacularly badly… like when I brewed a French press of water for precisely 5 minutes and realized, only when I went to pour it out, that I had forgotten to add the grounds.
