Thank you for introducing me to each of these artists. The colors in Emma Whitehorse’s painting immediately reminded me of the color of a sassafras leaf in the fall. It’s not yellow, and it’s not pink. It’s somewhere beautiful in-between. I’m sure that wasn’t the artist’s main objective in creating the painting, but that’s a distinctive memory of autumn that it triggered in my mind’s eye on this hot summer day.
