Yes, Cádiz is the first settlement as a city in Western Europe, and the major port receiving ships and merchandise returning from America back in the 15th and 16th centuries… There is so much history all over Europe, and in places like Turkey, the country is like an open air museum… For a lover of history and archaeology, like me, it is like a candy store…

I very much love how, despite its 3,000-year history, its glorious setting on a peninsula in the southwest of the country, and its heady concentration of all things Andalusian, Cádiz has yet to be trampled by crowds. It’s one of my favourite places. Thanks for sharing, and have a good day 🙂 Aiva xx
