#opinion, “Let Freedom Ring”

(Image El Universal – US Active duty Marines illegally being deployed by the president of the US against Americans in Los Angeles)

The people of the United States of America have had enough of a terrorist, authoritarian government headed, not by a president, but by an autocratic leader that is not governed by the Constitution or by the Rule of Law.

God help, strengthen and protect those in the streets of US cities fighting for freedom and Democracy while the federal government deploys the Marines against them. The US military is not there to be unleashed against civilians in the streets of America! As a prior member of US armed forces I can say that if I was given orders to act against American civilians, those orders I would not obey! The people’s voice will be heard and the only “illegals” are the thugs kidnapping people and deporting them!

DOWN WITH TYRANNY AND

LET FREEDOM RING!

Here again we disagree. Illegals are illegals. The hardships they seek to escape do not justify flaunting the law of the country they wish to be part of. If we do not have law, we descend into anarchy. It is not a matter of degree. The law is the law. It is up to the legal citizens of a country to change laws deemed unfair, antiquated, or harmful to society. It is not the duty or privilege of citizens of another country.

    1. Respectfully disagree totally. When the executive does not respect the law or the Constitution, they are the illegals.

Granted President Loose Cannon’s actions but not specifically in responding to riots in the streets with National guard and Marines. But, but but, Loose Cannon’s actions do not cancel the illegality of undocumented aliens and pure and simple agitators who will attach themselves to any cause where there is a likelihood they can riot and get away with it for the bleeding hearts’ insufferable tolerance of lawlessness. Two different flagrant violations of law. Local police are quickly outnumbered and demonstrations for the agitators’ purposes turn ugly and dangerous. Freedom, yes, but do not confuse wanton disregard for others and others’ property a freedom of any form. Nor when illegally in a country is it a freedom to test law enforcement in the performance of their duty.

      2. Espie, I have no quarrel with so-called illegals being deported, especially if they have committed crimes in the US. But it must be done in a civilised way and according to the law of the US and the subjects must be given due process and a judge, and only an Immigration judge can deport them, or grant them the right to choose voluntary departure. This is how it was always done. A president has no right to interfere with law enforcement, evne at the Federal level. Second, and you were a LEO, so I know you were trained for riot duty, and if so, you must remember that the last thing we wanted to do was to fuel the flames, especially of a peaceful protest, so we always stood down and pulled back and only reactedif there were crimes going on in the riot area. But unleashing active duty Marines! That is more than crazy, that is creating a violent riot where there wan only a demonstration. People are justifiably angry and they have the right to protest. So, do not get me wrong, I am all for law and order, but with the spirit of the law at hand, not necessariily the letter…

We shall continue to amicably disagree not in larger facts but in details. Not to worry I will not come to Valencia and with an army of agitators «demonstrate» in front of Omnia and stand idly by when things turn ugly. Neither will I publicly but chastise President Loose Cannon’s irrational behavior on the national and international stage, not be content to appear tolerant of greedy, self-serving megabuck «advisors» in any capacity.

I should renew my passport, then apply for a Visa to visit Spain. If I am allowed a Visa, I’ll stay at home. But if I am denied I will try to enter illegally and foment civil unrest as is my right.

      4. Hehehe… good come back Espie! I always knew you had a phenomenal sense of humour. Here in the EU it is unlawful to deport anyone, no matter how he entered. Actually, if you enter legally you must meet certain strict requisites, but if you arrive in a boat from Africa you are welcomed and given money, house, clothes and everything you need. How about that?

I understand the logic., I applaud the intent. What happens when hundreds of thousands of homeless (in every sense of the word) people appear on the horizon and bring with them any amount of criminal element or even social mores that fly in the face of Espana’s?

      6. No clue, but we cannot treat people like animals, nor can we allow the president to insult and offend people in the way your president does. Thousands of sub-saharan migrants have entered the EU and so far there has been no problem because we treat them like human beings and lend a hand. And we are not a nation of immigrants like the US…

And yes, I fear another Kent State. But I worry also for both military and LEO for the impossible task they face, the split-second decisions they will be forced to make and later be judged for at the public’s leisure. There is always he danger of passing the time when standing down begins to be not longer prudent.

      8. If your president would have respected the law and the Constitution, he would not have bi-passed a state governor. He would not have fuelled the fire of a situación that was getting under control. And besides, the majority of the people protesting were American citizens with the right to do so. The illegality was committed by the president in sticking his nose where it does not belong. I worked several riots in Miami and we never had the need for the National Guard, and much less active duty troops! That is unheard of! Just like the government kidnapping people in the night and sending them to El Salvador, where many of them were not even born there! Espie, if you truly stand for law and order, then you cannot applaud these actions from the executive branch. I hope you understand…

I fullyi undersdtand and appreciate your position. Neither do I care for the tone of the President’s response. But I am not ready to believe the riots were under control, nor do I believe burning cars and defying lawful orders is admissible because of highly questionable actions by a megalomaniac.

      10. We don’t know, not being there… you may be right, but a president cannot bi-pass a governor and deploy active duty troops to inflame the situation and create a disaster putting those very troops in danger.

In any event it has been a good tête à tête and it proves that different (almost opposite) points of view can be debated as civilised men. Thank you Espie for your input and knowledge.
