#opinion, Querido Diario, página 16… Dear Diary, page 16…

A veces me parece que la humanidad se asemeja a un viejo pescador, sin mucho éxito, que sale todos los días a echar sus anzuelos desde las ajadas maderas de una triste yola. Se pasa las horas pescando al sol y al final del día no ha atrapado ni un par de sardinas para echar en la barbacoa… Hay días que la mar se le muestra mansa tranquila y le reconfortan las brisas y aunque no pican ni los mosquitos, regresa a casa rejuvenecido, aunque hambriento. Pero hay otros días en que las olas amenazan, se lo quieren tragar, y el viento se convierte en latigo que le pega incesantemente y le rasura el rostro ya muy quemado y agrietado por el sol… Así estamos. Así somos nosotros, la humanidad sedienta, hambrienta, y llena de necesidades. Los que nos rodean y gobiernan son pervertidos sinvergüenzas que nos lanzan a la guerra, y como no nos respetan nos echan encima a sus perros de presa… Mirad lo que está pasando en Ucrania, en Gaza, en Afghanistan, en Balochistan, y también en Los Angeles…

Sometimes it seems to me that humanity resembles an old fisherman, not very successful, who goes out every day to cast his hooks from the weathered wood of a sad little boat. He spends hours fishing in the sun, and at the end of the day, he hasn’t caught even a couple of sardines to throw on the grill… Some days the sea shows itself calm and the breezes are comforting, and although not even the mosquitoes bite, he returns home rejuvenated, though hungry. But there are other days when the waves threaten, wanting to swallow him, and the wind becomes a whip that incessantly lashes him, scraping his already sunburned and cracked face… This is how we are. This is how we are as humanity! We are thirsty, hungry, and full of needs. Those around us and in power are shameless perverts who throw us into war, and since they do not respect us, they unleash their attack dogs on us… Look at what is happening in Ukraine, in Gaza, in Afghanistan, in Balochistan, and also in Los Angeles…
