#art, «Hectoricus» Dibujar es meditar – To Draw is To Meditate» (Esp/Eng)

Vamos a ver, dice el pintor, ¿Qué pinto, o dibujo hoy? Hay que esperar que venga la inspiración, ni de coña digo yo… La inspiración, como dijo Picasso, que me pille currando como Dios manda, para eso soy un artista pintor… Pero bueno, hay algunos que piensan que tienen que esperar que las musas lo muevan, pero el culo se tiene que mover solo y no con el apoyo de supuestas musas. El artista se debe a su labor y tiene que producir si quiere vivir del arte y no del cuento… Yo nuca he creído en esas cosas paranormales o sobrenaturales o gilipolleces. Al contrario, siempre he creído que el artista, como el ingeniero o el medico, tiene que levantarse cada mañana y a la faena. El arte no es ni magia ni nada del otro mundo, al contrario, es cosa muy humana, como el aliento que nos sostiene o el alimento. Para un artista faenar es alimentarse, meditar, orar y conocer los otros mundos que atraviesa la mente y el espíritu constantemente… Dibujar me mola bastante… Os muestro ahora uno de mis antiguos dibujos de la época mía en Miami que se titula «Hectoricus» cuyo estilo es proto-JaZzArt expresionismo surreal…

Let’s see, says the painter, what should I paint or draw today? Should one wait for inspiration to arrive? I say no way!… Inspiration, as Picasso said, should catch me working hard, for that’s what being a painter is all about… But well, there are some who think they have to wait for the muses to move them, but your arse has to move on its own and not with the assistance of supposed muses. The artist should be dedicated to his craft and must produce if he wants to live off art and not fairy tales… I have never believed in those paranormal, supernatural, or nonsense things. On the contrary, I have always believed that the artist, like the engineer or the doctor, must get up every morning and get to work. Art is neither magic nor anything out of this world; on the contrary, it is a very human thing, like the breath that sustains us or food. For an artist, work is nourishment, meditation, prayer, and the way to explore the other worlds where the mind and spirit travel to constantly… And since I love to draw I will now show you one of my old drawings from my time in Miami. It is called «Hectoricus» and it is proto-JaZzArt surreal-expressionism.
