#music, An Oldie-Goldie for a Friday: «It’s All Over Now Baby Blue»

(Bryan Ferry/Image Discogs/Unknown photographer)

Ok, so this is a Dylan song. Yes, written by Bob Dylan, recorded in the 1965 album Bringing It All Back Home. But I prefer the cover by Bryan Ferry. Ferry recorded the song (along with a couple other Dylan songs he covered) in the album Frantic from 2002. The song is phenomenal and a classic. It is thought that «Baby Blue» may refer to Joan Baez, David Blue, Paul Clayton, Dylan’s folk audience or even Dylan himself. It still remains a mystery. And, of course, this song has been covered by almost everyone, including The Grateful Dead and Hugh Masekela…

So here is one of my favourite versions. What do you think?

  1. I didn’t realize it was a Dylan song, I’ve only heard Bryan Ferry. 😊🎶 Maggie

    1. Yes Dylan wrote and recorded it, but I like Ferry’s version better.
