Everybody…well, of a certain age…remembers «Whiter Shade of Pale» and I always thought it was a phenomenal song, I still do, but if you ask me for a Procol Harum song I would choose «Conquistador«.
The band was formed in 1967 in Essex. They are classified as being a psychedelic rock, proto-progressive, R&B, soul and blues band. Wow! That is saying a lot and I think it is true. I agree. They are a phenomenal group with deep knowledge of music, harmony, and most important, orchestration. They truly stood out in their time.
