And in the background one could hear the sounds of the violins as the orchestra began the passionate largo of the first movement of the Symphonie Fantastique by Berlioz…

He paused and listened and the mood seemed to change as the violins now approached the allegretto section of the piece. Here at this junction he began to speak…

Having faith means believing, especially having confidence in what we hope for and knowing, for certain, that there are things, many things, which we do not see. It seems, as Saint Paul wrote to the Hebrews, that the ancients knew more about our earth, our universe and our existence than what we know, or think we know. (Hebrews: 11/Holy Bible)

I really do not care about what the existentialists or the atheists beliefs, or in supposed scientific “proof” or what “experts” say (good grief experts!) about our existence. I know (through my belief and my faith) that the universe was created by God at his command and again as Saint Paul wrote, God made everything in creation from substance that was not, and is not, visible.

But, we all have one thing, that although many despots, dictators, or religious leaders, have tried to take away from us, they cannot, free will. Tyrants may try to restrict us in all manner of ways, but they cannot stop our minds from believing and from the knowledge that the truth has set us free because God, yes God, and atheists can deny it, gave us free will.

We are free to believe in whatever we want. Some can deny the truth. Some can create truths out of lies, and some can say they believe nothing and in nothing. It is all well and good. God lets the rain fall on the good and the bad and lets the sun shine on the righteous and on the evil. God does not interfere.

So, if you want to believe in outer space or that they put a man on the moon, you’ve every right. After all we all have to indulge in some form of fantasy.
