#travel, Pérgamo – Pergamum

Pérgamo, o Πέργαμος, ciudad de la antigua Grecia localizada al noroeste de Asia Menor (actualmente Turquía), frente a la isla de Lesbos. Las ruinas de Pérgamo están muy cerca de la ciudad de Bergama. Esta ciudad tuvo una de las más grandes bibliotecas de la antigüedad y además fue donde se perfeccionó la elaboración del pergamino. En 2014 fue designada Patrimonio de la Humanidad por UNESCO. La ciudad fue fundada por Pérgamos, un personaje de la guerra de Troya. La ciudad data desde antes del año 400 antes de Cristo.

Para mí fue un placer y una aventura haber visitado las ruinas de Pérgamo y no perdí oportunidad para hacer estas fotos…

Pergamum, or Πέργαμος, was an ancient Greek city located in the northwest of Asia Minor (now Turkey), across from the island of Lesbos. The ruins of Pergamum are very close to the city of Bergama. Pergamum had one of the largest libraries of antiquity and was also where the production of parchment was perfected. In 2014, it was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The city was founded by Pergamos, a figure from the Trojan War. The city dates back to before 400 BC.

For me it was quite a thrill and a pleasure to explore these ancient ruins, and of course I delighted myself in picture-taking…
