Brillante pintora brasileña que nació en São Paulo en 1889. Se le considera la artista que trajo las vanguardias del Siglo XX a Brasil. En (São Paulo) 1917-1918 logró revolucionar a los amantes del arte brasileños en una fabulosa exposición donde se destaco con su estilo único, moderno y diferente. También en la Semana de Arte Moderno, (São Paulo/febrero 1922), considerada el acto inicial del Modernismo brasileño. Estudió en su ciudad natal y luego en Nueva York donde aprendió mucho del cubismo. En EEUU pintó dos cuadros muy interesantes: A Boba (1915) y O Ritmo (1917). Su primera retrospectiva fue en São Paulo (1949). En 1951 participó en el I Salón Paulista de Arte Moderno.

Brilliant Brazilian painter who was born in São Paulo in 1889. She is considered the artist who brought the vanguards of the 20th-century to Brazil. In (São Paulo) 1917-1918, she revolutionized Brazilian art lovers with a fabulous exhibition where she stood out with her unique, modern, and different style. Also at the Modern Art Week (São Paulo, February 1922), regarded as the initial act of Brazilian Modernism. She studied in her hometown and later in New York, where she learned a lot about Cubism. In the USA, she painted two very interesting paintings: A Boba (1915) and O Ritmo (1917). Her first retrospective was in São Paulo (1949). In 1951, she participated in the I Paulista Salon of Modern Art.
