1) Frida Kahlo. Mediocre, did not know how to draw or paint. At best a naïve artist, but hardly even there. It is hard for me to even call her a bad artist, because I tremble to use the word «artist» when referring to her. However, since her death they have converted her into the «queen of merchandising».
Need I say more about this supposed artist that never added anything to art history? (Sorry if you are a fan. I am hot here to discourage you. This is simply my opinion).
2) Joan Miró. Boring to the extreme. He never experimented, he never searched. He did not even mix colours. What for? Buy the tubes, they already come mixed and then «create» a series of paintings using simply the colours (primary ones) as they come out of the tube. Finish series in ten minutes. If his family had not opened the Joan Miró foundation where would all those canvases be? I suspect collecting dust in some attic or basement. However, I do believe he was a smashing good sort of chap.
3 A + B) (A)Yoko Ono. If she had not married John Lennon (who she did her best to seduce back in the late 1960’s), nobody would have ever heard of her. And that would have been hunky dory. The only thing she does worse than art is singing, composing and performing. Cannot say anything else about this woman, except that she may actually also be Yayoi Kusama, there is a likeness, no? That allows me to segway to #3 (B), Yayoi Kusama. Great curtain designs for the home of a blind man…
Let me be clear on this very important point. I am judging only the art that these artists have brought to the world. I do not know these people personally therefore I make no judgements on their personality, lifestyle or anything like that. It is nothing personal. If you are a fan of any of these or of any of the ones in the forthcoming part 2, I am so sorry, but this is my opinion based upon a lifetime of study in art and art history. And I also base these opinions on common sense and good taste.

I still like Joan Miro F. Ok, he may not be an exceptional exponent of the art technically, but his vibrant colours always give me a lift and like I said before his colours remind me of the sun, sea and beaches of Spain. Now that can’t be a bad thing surely. Wishing you a great year ahead in whatever you do.

I understand completely Malc. We each have our preferences and we each see different things that attract us or distract us. I am expressing only my preference not a judgement. That his colours remind you of so many wonderful this is fab and that means his art has worked. Wishing you a healthy and happy 2025 Malc. De los artistas que citas, hay de algunos que no conozco su obra, pero Frida Kahlo y Joan Miró, me gustan . Estoy de acuerdo que si Yoko Ono no hubiera sido la pareja de John Lennon ni se conocería.
En fin respeto tu opinión. Yo sólo me guío por lo que gusta, no soy un entendida en arte. . Feliz primer día del año.

Gracias Azurea20, y eso es, simplemente mi opinión porque como dice el dicho, para gustos los colores… Frida Kahlo tiene algunos autorretratos que me gustan, pero de Miró, nada… te deseo un año con Salud y alegría, ahí en esas dos cosas está todo lo que uno pueda necesitar o querer.

Art is something makes some one to see, to hear, to touch, to speak, to feel what happened before in your soul… Something(s) impressive, something(s) hits… Once upon a time, I had met with a person, he told me about dreams, «dreams coming to us in our lanugages, in our own symbols, in our cultural codes, etc. Only the owner of a dream can read, can understand the meaning of what’s his/her dream interpretation… Today’s words reminded me this. Of course there are some platforms that they declare the names as an artist… and sure because of their artworks. On the other hand, when an artwork’s voyage starts, everything changes…. X one for me so beautiful, but for some others doesn’t mean anything…Anyway, I love Frida and Miro,… Thank you, Love, nia
