Lovely lady, flowers?
They come from lands
that seem dark, forgotten, ominous,
where not a single rose blooms,
where birds have lost their melodies,
where the sea rips through the sand
and these you place in my hands,
in my lapel?
Them I’ll treasure
one brief moment,
for I firmly do believe
you have a hatred of flowers,
these flowers you give to me.
