#art, What’s Going On?

(Detail from “Bunny”/Francisco Bravo Cabrera/All Rights Reserved)

We are working… An artist has to re-vindicate himself with every work he creates. One cannot say “I’m an artist and everything I do is art”. One is an artist from piece to piece. If you don’t work, work hard, I mean, you do not further your talent, and without talent your work will be rubbish. The job of the artist is constant, non stop, 24/7 by 365 days. But the artist only exists while he is actually creating art.

So, here at Omnia Caelum Studios Valencia we are working. Not all of us are artists in the same way, but we all work. Here is what Bodo Vespaciano is doing…

That’s so beautiful, Francisco, both your art and words 🙂 If you want to get better at something you need to practise regularly. Of course, you do. No-one would argue with that. But regular practice alone isn’t enough. There are good and bad ways to practise.

My own experience of teaching myself to draw over the last few years has taught me this: Practise ineffectively, and you’ll be putting in huge amounts of effort for very little reward. Practise effectively, and you can progress much faster than you would have thought possible with much less effort.

Thanks for sharing, and have a good day 🙂 Aiva xx

    1. Thank you! And without a doubt, without knowing what you are doing you are wasting time, that is why I advocate lessons or, at the very least, tutorials, books, seminars etc. Once you have acquired the knowledge, the ability and the recognition of the tools you need, that is when you must put in the work to develop talent. If not, as you say, it is a wasted effort with little reward. You’re very welcome and a good day to you too Aiva. 😊🙏😊

«Bunny» Bodo. Love the artwork and can not quite discern any bunny in the first artwork shown. Didn’t know you were in the rabbit habit…. A new subject for you, perhaps. Just don’t fall down too many rabbit holes (enough with the bunny puns). Nice job, Francisco.

    1. Thank you Pat. Yes “Bunny” is actually an owl.. how’s that for a rabbit hole?

Most unexpected. Bunny does resemble an owl. Where did Bunny come from?

      2. From the song «Bunny» a jazz standard by Gerry Mulligan and Johnny Hodges. that I really love. It’s like my «theme song» to Wine Time! Check it out: https://youtu.be/p4F0U2Y350Y?si=CwAisvUvC7Q_Z-If

I especially like the owl and the ballerinas. Keep creating! Have a great weekend! It’s unseasonably warm and dry here. Cold weather can take it’s own sweet time coming. I’ll take 80 degrees F. any day of the year!

    1. Thank you so much Janet! It is getting colder here and raining every day. But I’m sure it’s just a storm front typical in Europe at this time of year and it will pass. Our Mediterranean climate keeps us sunny and pretty nice almost all year. Well I hope the 80 degrees F. continues and comes with many blessings. All the best.
