Dear diary, let me start with a quote from The Simpson’s, the most philosophical programme on the tele today and since the first day they started: “It takes two to lie: one to lie and one to listen.”
Yes, it seems like we are the ones told to listen. We are told to listen by the liars that want our votes, by the ones who want to convince us of their «truth» and by all those who think they are better, wiser, and brighter. So we listen…
But do we actually swallow their bullshit? I don’t think so. I hope not. When I hear Trump speak, I may listen but I don’t believe a word he says. When I hear Maduro, in Venezuela, claim he won the «elections» in his country, I may pause, have a brief listen, but I don’t believe it. He is a communist, a tyrant and rather dull compared to other communist dictators…
So…
Who are you listening to? Do you believe them? And this rule, or paradigm applies to all situations in life, not just to politicians vying for your vote or trying to convince you of their supremacy. This happens between you and your friends, neighbours, spouse, children et al…
«D’oh» as Homer Simpson would say…
CHEERS
I really enjoyed your post with its quote, your thoughts and your beautiful artwork.

Brilliant, Francisco. When Trump is being hateful, it’s his First Amendment Rights BUT when it is being done today him then it’s «rude» and, «nasty». Talk about a double standard.

Absolutely! But Pat, does he really have any standards?

If he does, they were never apparent to me. The only time he pleasantly surprised me was when he was caught off guard when somebody asked if he knew that Ruth Bader Ginsberg has died. He replied no and said she was a great lady. I was expecting something hateful.

I would have expected something hateful too…

It’s always my pleasure!

Great Post.
The quote from The Simpsons reminds us that not everything we listen to is truthful or trustworthy. The Bible encourages us to test all things and hold on to what is good (1 Thessalonians 5:21). In a world full of different voices and opinions, including those of politicians and leaders, we should turn to God for wisdom and guidance, asking Him to help us discern truth from falsehood. Let’s always remember that our ultimate trust should be in God and His Word, rather than the shifting opinions of people.

Amen. I quite agree. Although «they» have tried to teach that there is no God, there is a God, one God, one Spirit, one Salvation. The Holy Spirit guides us towards the truth. Thank you WIllie.

Incompetence I can tolerate but technocrats I hate with a vengeance. Here in the UK the lunatics have taken over the asylum.

That is the problem indeed Malc! And in Spain the lunatics took over the assylum in 2019!

Francesc, as you know, I always try to keep my blogs as impartial as possible to allow people to make up their own minds, but I don’t know for how much longer. I’ve been angry with politicians for nay reasons over many years, but I don’t think I’ve ever been so angry as I am now.

I fully understand Malc. I’ve never been too quiet about my views and never quite as disgusted. But, here in Europe things do not change, so I am really not afraid of the mediocre politicians of the moment, I know they will pass and leave nothing undisturbed. At least that has been the case since the creation of the EU.

I doubt that you’re as upset as I am at the moment F. The UK is turning into a caliphate aided and abetted by a new and totally incompetent government. Things are beginning to get quite serious now.

It’s amazing how self-destructive some politicians are here in Europe! I understand, we have been facing this problem since 2019 too…
