To build a castle
all you need is time,
and you’ll build castles
in your mind…
-Fading colours,
white to grey,
friends were coming
but they’ve lost their way.
-Voices shouting,
music fades,
I was leaving,
but now I think I’ll stay.
-Footsteps coming,
loud and clear,
who can run
away from fear?
-Arms that hold me
muscles crush,
spirit’s power
gained from strength they’ve lost.
-Building castles,
with stones and blood,
where bones and nails
create dust and memories,
that fade when the morning sun
slips through the window,
the curtain has rotted away
where time and ghosts now play.
