I have always stood by the thought that art is the search and that the search must yield fruit. This applies to all the arts, for sure. A poet seeks the most expressive, passionate, emotion-provoking words and phrases to transfer, from his thoughts…mind, recollection…to the paper his message and that message, in turn, must be received by the reader. The same thing with a painting, or a drawing (a drawing is just like a painting but with less elements applied). So, I don’t choose my themes, or topics, based upon inspiration, I work them. I have to develop the idea, the reference and the message. Second I must choose the medium. Will I draw it? Will I paint it? And then the creation of the composition, the colour scheme and the size. A painting is like writing an epic poem or a novel. It requires the same planning and the same thought pattern by the author/artist/painter/poet…
