#art, What do I Need as An Artist, Lesson No. 1

(«El artista junto al mar»/Francisco Bravo Cabrera/Derechos Reservados – «The Artist and The Sea» by Francisco Bravo Cabrera/All Rights Reserved)

+++

The first question one should ask of one’s self is,

«Am I an artist?»

And one must reply,

«I think so, well, what I mean is that I want to, yes, yes, I am an artist.»

So what you have to do is create. If you are an artist/painter then paint, paint, and paint more and more. Paint when you wake up, all day, and before going to bed, and the next day repeat the same. You will become an artist. And don’t think that’s the end of it, not at all, because the artist has to revindicate himself with each work, it’s not an honorary title in perpetuity.

So go to work!

    This is such a piece of fantastic advice, Francisco While I am no painter, I very much suggest the same means of practice to someone keen on becoming a writer. I am a huge believer in building time into every day to write. I advocate this consistent practice for both beginner and expert writers alike! The beautiful thing about – whether it is painting or writing – is that there is always room for growth and exploration, and the best way to do this and build upon existing talent and technique is to work on it every day. Thanks for sharing, and have a wonderful day 🙂 Aiva xx

    1. Thank you Aiva, for expanding the thought and quite right you are. Whether you are a writer, a painter, a musician, a dancer or anything else «Practice Makes Perfect!» Talent is developed, it is not a given and one must constantly work on it no matter if you are a beginner, amateur or a professional. Wonderful thoughts said in such a precise way. All the best to you and a wonderful week!

    But this one line is the most powerful for me: «So go to work!» 😎
