Tarragona is about 90K south of Barcelona, it is a beautiful port city of about 150.000 people. I would say the second in importance in Catalunya. Worth a visit, not only for its Roman ruins but also for all that there is on the coastal region there… Thank you Pat!

Sure George, Tarragona is on the Mediterranean coast, about 85K south of Barcelona. It is the capital of the province and that region of Catalunya. It is not far from Valencia either, about 3 hours by car. Hope this gives you a good idea…

It dates back to pre-Augustus Rome, and actually Emperor Augustus named it the capital of Roman Hispania. It’s a beautiful city on a hill and a valley and the sea. What more can you want? All the best and thank you!
