Hace 53 años que en Woodstock, en el estado de Nueva York (EEUU), se celebró un gran festival de música, de amor, y de libertad. Marcó un hito en la cultura y demostró que los cambios se podían lograr de forma pasiva pero resistiéndose al estatus quo… Durante toda una década se hizo la lucha, se denunciaron los abusos a las minorías, la mala fe hacia los que no encajaban del todo en lo que se consideraba la «sociedad» de esos tiempos y se lograron muchas cosas buenas y necesarias. Se lograron los derechos civiles, los derechos de la mujer y se dieron pasos positivos hacia el logro de la igualdad para todos. Éramos…y me incluyo aunque era demasiado joven en esa época para participar…progresistas, izquierdistas y activistas y queríamos un mundo mejor, con justicia y sin juicios ni miramientos…

Ahora los «progresistas/izquierdistas» son la elite, los que mandan, los que imponen, los que le han robado al pueblo la espontaneidad, la iniciativa y el progreso. Ahora ha regresado el puritanismo, la censura, y todo lo arropan en la frasecita tonta esa que llaman lo «políticamente correcto.» Ahora le quitan los derechos al pueblo para dárselos a los que los «progresistas/izquierdistas» estiman que deben ser los afortunados recipientes de tales dadivas, cosas que no se merecen ni se han ganado…

Ostras, como ha cambiado la cosa en tan poco tiempo…

53 years ago, in Woodstock, New York (USA), a great music festival took place. It was a celebration of love and freedom. It marked a milestone in our culture and showed everyone that change could be achieved by passively resisting the status quo. For an entire decade, the fight was fought against abuses to minorities and the ill will towards those who didn’t quite fit into what was considered «society» at that time was exposed. Many good and necessary things were accomplished. Civil rights were secured, women’s rights were recognized, and significant steps towards achieving equality for all were taken. We were… and I include myself, although I was too young at that time to participate… progressives, leftists, and activists. We wanted a better world, with justice and without judgments or hesitations.

In this day and age the «progressives/leftists» are the elite. They issue orders and demand our obedience. They impose their ideas and theories and demand allegiance. They have robbed from the people their initiative, their spontaneity and their will towards progress. They have brought back censorship, puritanism and everything that surrounds the stupid phrase «Political Correctness.» Now they take rights away from the people and in turn give these to whomever they deem worthy. Those fortunate ones are the ones faithful to their creed and to them they give handouts that they’ve neither worked for nor deserve…

Good grief! How things have changed in so little time…
