What right do these self-proclaimed «activists» have to interfere with people’s daily lives? Worse even, what right do they have to attempt against art? How can we tolerate these terrorist actions? These bullies, terrorists, useful idiots are going into museums to attempt to destroy works of art and the authorities must take actions against them. Their actions are not the actions of activists for a worthy cause. Their actions are vandalism and cannot be tolerated. How can anyone in their right mind advocate to stop oil? Most everything they use in their daily lives is a petroleum derivative or has used oil even in indirect fashion. So on top of all their vandalism/terrorism, their actions are hypocritical for they use oil as much as anyone else.
On the 6th of November two of these vandals went into the National Gallery in London, with hammers, and smashed the glass protecting a Velazquez. I’ve two questions to the National Gallery: 1) How the hell did these two clowns get into the museum with hammers; 2) What charges have been brought against them. In my opinion they should be charged with crimes against the state and against private property.
I am not going to put here any images as I do not want to popularise or provide free promotions to these people who I strongly disapprove of, but I do want you to comment. Please tell me what you think of this and what can we all do to stop this crime against all.

Maybe somebody should tell them that oil painting is not produced by Shell or Exxon…and oil fracking is not a way to extract paint from the ground…:) Action should be directed against those responsible not artwork…at least that is my humble opinion…

Some people have such low self-esteem, they embrace causes to get attention and make themselves feel important. Young people, in particular, who lack knowledge and wisdom, want to make a big noise over nothing. As you wisely pointed out, so many things in our lives are made from petroleum that modern civilization would probably collapse if we stopped producing oil. But, self-serving politicians, who also lack knowledge and wisdom, encourage this stuff. I agree that it has to stop! All it does is make people angry. These vandals should be in jail. Making a political statement does not legitimize committing a crime.

Sadly and criminally “protestors” often incorrectly assume theirs the only proper [read moral, social, and political] views. This they believe justifies extreme means to attain their desired result, in-process wrecking irreparable damage to culture and society at large [Trivial collateral damage protestors feel, perhaps even chosen for it’s deplorable senselessness, but entirely justified.] In many cases this [violence] is implemented against objects completely unrelated or only tangentially related to pressing arguments, therein doubling the insanity of state-of-the-art protests/protesting/protestors. How very interesting though, that what someone else protests [fossil fuel, abortion, Palestinian statehood, or antisemitism for example] is lunacy, their actions voicing their protests [indeed, the goals of their protests first and foremost] heinous; contrarily, yours and my protests [eradication of Communism as a sociopolitical philosophy, outright banning of firearms, overcorrecting for gender bias for example] righteous and logical as they are [it should be quite naturally obvious to the world] justify any means we bring to bear on waking the world to our cause and thus making [our desired] changes.
Criminals are criminals and criminal acts are just that. Indeed neither can be tolerated. Let us be careful with our definitions, though. We might find ourselves guilty of criminal [yea, immoral] conduct.

I daren’t say what I think F. My blood is boiling with the way people are abusing our hard fought freedom. This weekend is Armistice Day which is the day when we fall silent for 2 minutes to pay our respects to those who gave their lives in order for us to be free from tyranny, and yet apparently it’s ok for thousands of people to still march through London in protest at what’s going on in Gaza with scant regard for this most solemn of occasions.
