En 1971, Paul McCartney se enfrentó a una dura encrucijada: seguir tocando o dejarlo. Decidió formar una nueva agrupación, Wings. Junto a su esposa Linda, trajo consigo al ex guitarrista de The Moody Blues, Denny Laine, al baterista Denny Seiwell y a un segundo guitarrista, Henry McCullough y en 1972 hicieron su primera gira por el Reino Unido. En 1973 Wings logró su primer hit con «My Love» que llegó al número uno en EEUU. Acto seguido, una colaboración con Linda y con George Martin, el antiguo productor de The Beatles y de esta salió la canción «Live and Let Die.» En 1973, Paul, Linda y Laine se fueron a Nigeria donde grabaron el álbum mas importante y mas famoso de la agrupación, Band on the Run. Wings duró hasta 1981.

In 1972, they embarked on their first tour in the UK. In 1973, Wings achieved their first hit with «My Love,» which reached number one in the US. Soon after, Paul collaborated with Linda and George Martin, the former producer of The Beatles, and the song «Live and Let Die» was born. In 1973, Paul, Linda, and Laine travelled to Nigeria, where they recorded the band’s most important and famous album, Band on the Run. Wings disbanded in 1981.
