#art, Sharon Stone es también pintora – Sharon Stone is Also an Artist! (Esp-Eng)

Sharon Stone, I love her as an actress, but as a painter, well, she leaves a lot to be desired. Neither technique, nor composition, nor color mixing, nor taste, nor any idea! It would have been better if she had done it with AI. And she does abstract art! Well, is it abstraction or just paint smudges? Abstract art is very difficult and always has a reference, it’s not for beginners…

Sharon Stone made her debut as an artist on March 2nd (2023), and she titled her exhibition «Shedding, a Prelude.» It took place at the Oceanside Hotel, one of the glamorous Hollywood hotels from the 1930s. Interestingly, she only invited her female friends to the exhibition. The showcase featured 17 paintings.

I would remind Miss Stone that art, like acting, is a profession (although both can be pursued as hobbies), and it should be approached with the same seriousness that actors bring to their craft, a craft that I highly respect. I would also suggest Sharon, that you consider attending an academy, enrol, and learn, especially if you plan to focus your attention on abstract art, as it is not merely random paint strokes on a canvas.

And of course, any gallery would be thrilled if she chose it to exhibit, after all, it’s Sharon Stone. The same goes for Sylvester Stallone, Johnny Depp, Jim Carrey, Brad Pitt, and so on. It’s not because their work has artistic merit, it’s because they are famous!

People will still want to buy it just like they buy perfume with the name Jennifer Lopez on it.

    1. I’m sure they will, I’m not too sure about serious collectors as they know that those paintings will gain little, if any value… Cheers Malc and a great start of the week to you!

Well, miz Stone earns a solid «Meh» from me as far as art goes. As far as personality, maturity, and respect/respectability, she falls completely under the acceptability bar. Like so many entertainment people, she is infected with some terrible virus that shrivels their common sense and decency. Is it the California air? The «hard» hours actors and sportspersons invest in craft? Bottled water? Or did they start out this way and was just a matter of time before sycophants massaged egos to destroy their understanding of reality?

  4. Fame sure does open doors, doesn’t it? The girl from the first Jurassic Park quit acting to become an artist, as I learned when I saw some of her paintings down in San Diego, but she made a career out of it …

Let’s face it: it’s hard to take an actor who paints seriously. Actors are free to dabble in music, politics, activism, entrepreneurship, but painting? Art is serious business. Remember when Britney Spears unveiled her love of painting in a viral Instagram video? Nearly five million people watched the bizarre video, set to Mozart, in which the singer paints flowers on a canvas outdoors – English entertainment reporter Robin Leach shelled out $10,000 for the painting.

    1. You are right. Although I do think that an artist is an artist and is usually attracted to various artistic disciplines, it is hard to take (most) of these Hollywood types as serious artists, although they are brilliant actors. Thank you so much Aiva, and all the best to you!
