Esta gente si que se la comieron… Usar la bellísima imagen de la Venus de Botticelli para una campaña publicitaria para promover turismo a Italia es un atrevimiento atroz y también una gran chapuza. ¡Mira como la han vestido!¿Acaso en Italia no hay mejor moda? Venga, ahora vamos a verla en todo su esplendor, al fin y al cabo es uno de los cuadros mas bellos de la historia del arte. En el vídeo lo tenéis todo.

These people really did it! To use Botticelli’s Venus as an ad model to promote tourism to Italy is a tremendous faux pas and a fashion disaster! Look at how they have dressed her! Isn’t Italy known for great fashion? In any event, here in the video below you will see the Venus in all her splendour. The video has it all.

Totally agree with you on this one Francesc. To play around with a painting like this for the sake of modern day commercialism is sacrilege in my opinion. Can’t those involved come up with something more innovative from today’s art world? You only have to look at some of the teriffic wall art that’s around to recognize that there are some amazing artists out there waiting for a break.

I’m italian and you don’t even know how much i’m ashamed to see something so awful and horrible. In Italy this «Open to Meraviglia» has become a very bad joke. Truly, i’m so sorry for the art.

Ah! Tasteless twits since time began to vex mankind, having no creativity themselves have taken the work of others and spoiled it. One can, I suppose argue the spoilers’ creativity but it is akin to «touching-up» the Mona Lisa with smears of dung, declaring it «art» or «fashion,» or «new genius.» Not particularly enamored with the «Birth of Venus,» not for the artistry but because it just doesn’t appeal to me, I still view «spoilers'» works for the most part trash.
