Ciertamente no es muy conocida, pero tampoco rebuscada y creo que contribuyó afirmativamente a la historia del arte. Anna Cassel fue la primera que se unió con Hilma Af Klint para formar el grupo De Fem (Las Cinco) en 1896 y esto dio pie a que se crearan las primeras obras de abstracción.

Anna Maria Augusta Cassel nació el 15 de marzo de 1860 en Suecia, país donde también nació Klint. Al principio se dedicó a pintar paisajes pero después, junto a las otras mujeres que formaron parte del grupo, hizo obras de abstracción con motivos espirituales como parte del trabajo de grupo que realizaban todas juntas. Aunque el grupo de Las Cinco se disolvió en 1907, Cassel y otras siguieron unidas a Klint para ayudarla a crear la serie de abstracciones conocidas como Pinturas para el Templo.

Certainly not a very well known artist, but I did not have to dig her up either and I do think she made a worthy contribution to Art History. Anna Cassel was the first to join Hilma Af Klint to form the group «De Fem» (The Five) in 1896. This group eventually gave rise to the first abstract paintings in the history of art.

Anna Maria Augusta Cassel was born on the 15th of March 1860 in Sweden, the same country where Klint hailed from. She started off doing landscape paintings but later joined the other women (who formed the rest of the group) in creating spiritually inspired images as part of a group collaboration. And although the group (The Five) disbanded in 1907, Cassal and a few others joined Klint and assisted her in the creation of the abstract series she called «Paintings for the Temple.»
