This raises a question for me. Have you ever heard of a female artist painting or creating their art under a male pseudonym to avoid the gender bias of the time?

Not in art that I can think of, but there were evil minded men who controlled museums who did actually erase the name of female painters and replaced them with the names of more popular male ones… This has been a stain in the art world since the beginning and although it is much better now, it is still not a problem that has been totally eradicated.
