Marvelous essay on Leonora Carrington. I had to use the Google translator, which did a less satisfactory job than usual. My Spanish was actually almost better than the translator. You are one of the few men who seems to be able to write about female artists (of all varieties) in a realistic, noncondescending way. I noticed you had a few articles on this other site. Do you own this blog too?
Thank you so much Pat. I had never been taught about such women artists at uni and now that I know that there were many and great ones, I’ve made it my mission to bring them forward in any way that I can. I believe in equality and this is my way of practicing it. Masticadores is not mine. It is a magazine with many different branches, in the USA, India, Italy, France and in Spain. Now they also have a weekend magazine called “Arde Masticadores” where I publish articles on art, and their newest is “Hotel” where I will be publishing my poetry and there will be works in English too… thank you so much. Leonora Carrington is one of my favourites and if you see her work you’ll understand why. I will be going to the expo in Madrid to make a fuller report. All the best and Happy Wine Time!
