I am not an artist, or an artisan or a painter. I am a chronicler of the times. I’m the one who documents my life in pictures and in drawings. I keep time in that manner. I keep moments, minutes, seconds, eternities, captured in black line on paper or in paint on canvases. What is art anyways…
To me art is the search…
To search implies a desire to find. And to find means placing something…the found…in space and time. Capturing that moment. Forming nothingness into a something concrete, something palpable. That is art. And art can only be that which is found. It cannot exist a priory and sometimes it does not last more than the time it takes to ponder a thought.
Art is not even abstract or figurative. Art is the passing of moments over a surface. It lingers there, captured in time. The synapsis interrupted. The neurons raped and violated by curiosity and by the will to portray what is fleeting and make it permanent. But art does not need permanency…
What does art need? Is art sublime? Is darkness sublime?
(I will leave that question open to discussion. What do you think?)

You also summarised why I write poetry and micro stories, to capture the moment which passing so quickly.

I can’t asnswer your question Francesc but what I can say is that this was a thoroughly enjoyable video, and the music was magic without the mushrooms 🙂

Looks like you took a walk on the dark side for this video and emerged artistically empowered on the other side. I liked this song and it seems totally different from your usual melodies. I loved the pictures you included in this video. You take on being a chronicler resonated with me. Many of my poem are a response to something I have seen or felt so you are spot on. Glad Malc mentioned the video, because I might have overlooked it.

Thank you so much Pat. It’s a song from way back more than 15 years ago we recorded in Miami. So glad you liked it. 😊

Really did. It fit the video nicely. Was this based upon a real life experience or an imagining?

I’ll interpret that as a No comment. 😉

No, I mean that most, if not everything that I write, I create artistically, perhaps taking from experiences either mine or that I hear about, but basically not autobiographical. They are part of my life at the time, but not necessarily because I had experienced them in the flesh, let us say. I might have just dreamt it all up, artistically that is… get it?

Thanks for mentioning the video, Malc. I really enjoyed it and found it atypical for a Francisco video. I agree with his saying he is a chronicler; some of my poetry also marks what I have experienced or seen.
