El barrio de Russafa (Ruzafa) – The Neighbourhood of Russafa (Ruzafa)

Russafa en valenciano, Ruzfa en castellano, pero este barrio de València se llama, oficialmente, Russafa. Es el area «hip» del centro de la ciudad. Aquí te encontraras un ambiente multi-nacional y multiétnico. Además en cada chaflan podrás disfrutar de cervecerías, bares, restaurantes y tiendecitas interesantes. Todo esto sin contar la cantidad de galerías, pequeñas salas de teatro y hasta un Jazz Club que si que mola… Pero al andar por las aceras ten mucho cuidado, porque si no, llegarás a casa (o al hotel) con los zapatos manchados de mierda. Sí, mierda de perros. En Russafa, creo yo, hay mas perros que gente y aunque la gran mayoría recoge los excrementos de sus gossos, (perricos), y le echan agua a sus meadas, (que dejan contra las paredes y las puertas de las fincas), hay un grupo de dueños irresponsables que no. Yo no culpo a los animales (los cuadrúpedos), sino a los dueños malcriados, mal educados y descarados que dejan la mierda de sus perros, y sus meadas, para que la pisen la buena gente de Russafa. Es hora que esto se acabe y la única manera de ponerle coto a esta practica antihigiénica y asquerosa, es mejor vigilancia y mas multas.

Russafa in Valencian, Ruzfa in Castilian, but this neighbourhood of the city of València is officially called Russafa. This is the «hip» area in this city centre neighbourhood. Here you will find a multi-national and multi-ethnic community. And as well a series of bars, cafes, restaurants and super interesting little shops, line every street and adorn every corner chamfer. All of this, and I haven’t even mentioned the art galleries, little theatres, and our own super cool Jazz Club… But, while you walk these sidewalks of our cool neighbourhood, be careful where you step, if not you will get home with a shoe full of dog shit! Yes! Dog shit! In Russafa, I think, there are more dogs than people and although the great mayority of dog owners are responsible and pick up their pet’s excrement and water down their piss, there are many irresponsible owners, perhaps with bad intent, that just leave it there caring little for who might step on it. I don’t blame the four legged animals… It’s time that this delinquent practice should end as it is antihygenic and extremely gross. We need more surveillance and more (and larger) fines against the perpetrators.

Esto no pasa…al menos no a este nivel…en otros barrios de la ciudad y no tiene porque pasar aquí tampoco. El que quiera una mascota que la cuide y que recoja la mierda que dejan por nuestras calles.

This does not occur in other neighbourhoods of the city and it does not have to happen here either. Whoever wants to have a pet, let them take care of it and pick up the shit they leave behind in our streets.

La culpa no es del ayuntamiento porque las calles se limpian varias veces al día y con agua. La culpa es de la gente que son muy mal educadas…

It is not the fault of City Hall as the streets here are cleaned, swept and disinfected several times a day. It is the fault of uneducated people who don’t care.
