I’ve always wondered why his paintings were so cheap. Only in the last 10 years have they become highly sought after at auctions.

I wondered the same thing and as well why he was not well known at all among many art circles. It is the way they teach art these days, they only focus on the style or the artists that the professors and faculty are in awe of. For example, I was never told about Remedios Varo… Thank you and a jolly good weekend to you.

We had a life model up here in Liverpool who once worked for Bacon – he had some tales to tell ( he also worked for Freud.) There is a superb Arena programme interviewing Bacon (from the 80s) and following him about his daily life – you may be aware of it; it’s on utube.

I can image the tales, hehehe… Great! Both Bacon and Freud are among my faves, for sure, yet, when I lived in the US I did not hear much about them (except by some people in NY). I will look for that Youtube video, have not seen it. Thank you Graham and all the best.

There is something about a series of paintings that is always appealing to me. Like photographs from three different angles, it highlights perspective and context. But I enjoy his singular works just as well. Have a great weekend, my friend!

Yes, I am surprised that not too many people know of Francis Bacon (maybe they confuse the name with the other one, hehehe…) But you are right a series really completes the cycle. Thank you my friend and all the best.
