La cancion de la mitad de la semana – The Middle of the Week Song…

La canción es «Almost Cut My Hair» escrita por David Crosby en 1970 y que fue incluida en el album Déjà Vu que fue lanzado ese mismo año. La canción se basa, mas o menos, en la decisión que tenían que hacer muchos de los hippis de esa época. Pero el compromiso con la «revolución» (cultural y política), con la música, con la libertad de expresión estaba simbolizada por la melena así que por mucho que David Crosby se lo pregunto a si mismo, no dejo atrás su compromiso eterno. Y como vemos, murió con su melena intacta. Requiescat in pace. David Crosby (1941-2023).

¡Que diferencia, mare meua, con la generación de ahora! En esos tiempos la juventud pensaba en el progreso, de forma inteligente, de forma única y de forma original. No andaban sacando los dicharachos de los fracasados de otras épocas.

The song is based, more or less, on the decision that many hippies of the seventies had to face because the commitment to the «revolution» (cultural and political), and with freedom of expression was exemplified by having long hair. So, no matter how much David had to think about it, he did not turn his head on his commitment and he died with his long hair intact. Requiescat in pace. David Crosby (1941-2023).

What a difference, my Lord, with todays generation! In those times the youth were truly thinking about progress, but intelligently, in a unique fashion and with 100% originality. They were not repeating worn out phrases that failures of other times had mouthed.
