Colours is something that we (as artists) must study well. I don’t think it should be used carelessly because each colour is charged with energy and thus with meaning and spirituality. An artist must study colour theory to use colour correctly. And of course learn to mix colour. These are elementary for an artist.

You, my friend, are a master of the palette!

Thank you my friend. I would not go that far, but I think that studying the theory of colour and knowing how to mix them is something elementary to every artist, or at least it should be. There are many artists out there that think that colour is just that, a pigment to apply to the canvas for a specific or desired effect, but in fact it is much more, it is the living soul of the painting, it is what people are attracted to, what people seek, so colour must be well thought out. All the best to you and as always, I greatly appreciate your support my brother.

I totally agree Francesc. In my former life as a printer I started my apprenticeship working in the colour room mixing up colours to a customer’s requests.

Colours are the first thing people are attracted to, the main attraction for modern art lovers. In the old, old days, it was the religious message implicit in the painting and the colours were not important, and in fact it was probably because there weren’t that many colours available, and only the cheapest ones, made from the soil, so they were usually browns, ochres and similar ones, were used abundantly. But nowadays, it is all different and paintings are sought after for their visual impact and that comes from the colour. An artist must know and use colour theory to advantage. Take good care my friend and all the best to you. We’ve still another BIG festivity here in Spain (as well as in some other European and Latin American countries), which is the coming of the Feast day of the Epiphany (06 JAN) or better known as the «Three Kings Day», that is the day the children receive their gifts (and perhaps some adult children as well, hehehe…) Cheers and all the best.

Esos colores hablan. Unos gritan, otros susurran, pero todos dicen.
Salud.

These are so gorgeous. One of the things I admire about your work so much is the color and the combinations of color. They are so striking. Thank you for sharing with us. I can’t remember the name of the gorgeous painting with the three flowers – also can’t believe you still have her. Obviously it is not in the right house until you get that call. It is such a striking piece however and the yellow, blue, green and that just perfect amount of gold that seems to be part of a wing (just my interpretation) is just exquisite. Sending big blessings
