I’ve been on the other side of a weapon like this,
the one in your head,
the one in your hand,
the one in your bed,
the one you can’t…anymore…understand.
A few times in my life I’ve found myself like this…
And I have been a ghost that you will only see,
a few times in your life…
I’ve been on the other side before,
of you,
of her,
of them,
of the reflection in the mirror,
face just darkly seen, distorted, shattered…
I am the other side of a weapon like this,
the one that you dread,
the one you can’t find,
the one where I’m dead,
the one without time…
I am the ghost that you’ll never forget,
I know you will think of me
a few times in your life…

A very thought-provoking poem F. Not quite sure what it means exactly – or whether there is a meaning hidden away in there at all, but at least it got me thinking.

Then it performed it’s purpose precisely. Poetry, as all art forms, should make one think… the purpose or meaning is unimportant to the recipient, be they observers or readers. The important aspect is the visceral or mental response the work elicits. Cheers Malc and all the best!
