Pues te doy una pista: la abstracción es aquella forma de pintar/dibujar que, a través de colores, formas geométricas y otros elementos, se crea una obra que no guarda referencia alguna…visual…con nada que se vea o se haya visto en el mundo natural nuestro. So, is it an abstract or a figurative work? I’ll give you a hint: abstract art is art which has no similarity with anything in the world that we know, no figures or anything resembling one. Abstract art abounds with colour, shapes, geometrical patterns and anything else that resounds within the limits of the reference of the artist, but nothing that can be identified as natural and from this world. Me gustan este tipo de obras porque aúnan la creatividad del autor y la capacidad del espectador para interiorizar escenarios que tal vez el creador ni siquiera tenía in mente.

Si, es verdad porque en una abstracción la referencia del autor es interna, pero lo que se imagina a él observador no se lo puede imaginar el autor. Buena observación, de las tuyas que tanto valoro y que tanto espero con mucho entusiasmo y agradecimiento. Bon dia y un saludo.

It must be figurative, as I can easily identify some of the components in the image. However, it is layered beautifully with abstraction that forces the viewer to search out the recognizable and find the harmony between the two. Love this image, my friend!

Yes! A blend or a mix or a work composed of diverse elements but all 100% figurative. The figurative can be quite surreal, and even have a lot of abstract art within… cheers Brad and all the best.

I can see faces in there somewhere so it has to be figurative – but perhaps I’m just imagining those faces.

You may well be, but if you’re seeing them then by convention the painting is figurative. In this case imagination doesn’t count. Cheers Malc! All the best 🙂
