«Art is F*art»
Art is art, right? The way it is now, anything that someone makes and calls art becomes art. Especially if it ends up in a gallery or a museum. But I say that although it is art, some art is of very poor quality, worthless. It is art that requires no talent, no work, no thought to be made and should be valued at nothing. This is what I call «F*art» (Art is F*art), to differentiate it from the art that is well thought out, crafted, developed, worked at very hard and for which talent is needed to create it. So, I don’t go around saying something, like the work of Banksy, Damien Hirst, Yoko Ono, Maurizio Cattelan (remember the banana at Art Basel Miami Beach) et al is not art, it is, but it is art that I would categorise as F*art… My opinion. What do you think?

If we go along with the idea that I don’t particularly care for it but do recognize that a lot of work went into it, then we can recognize the effort and maybe the skill without still liking the piece whether it is music, art, literature, etc.
