Let’s Take a Second Look at Paul Gauguin…

He may be remembered because of his close friendship with Vincent van Gogh…

This great French painter baptised Eugène Henri Paul Gauguin, was born in the summer of 1848. Although he is considered a post-impressionist, he was much more than that. He was an artist that pursued the search and experimented with colour, creating the Synthetist movement and style, something completely different from Impressionism. He lived in Polynesia for ten years where he painted the people and the scenery.

Gauguin died in 1903, possibly of a heart attack…

Gracias…

Cheers…

    1. That was the time when so many things were happening and so many new trends and styles of making art were being invented, developed and well, some are still around today, like abstract art…

    1. Well, I don’t know, I am not a huge fan but I can admire some of them especially his approach to composition and colour… Thank you Malc and all the best.
