Vivió siempre en su tierra natal, habiendo nacido en Leiden, 1606 y murió en Amsterdam, 1669. Además de ser considerado el mas importante pintor neerlandés es también considerado uno de los grandes maestros de todos los tiempos.

Art History would not be the same without the work of this great Dutch painter. Rembrandt was also a draughtsman and an engraver. He was born in Leiden in 1606 and lived his whole life in the Netherlands until his death, in Amsterdam in 1669. Besides being considered the most important of the Dutch painters, he is also thought of as one of the great masters of all time.
