Art: Abstract Art “BLUESTER”

(Photo property of FBC, Omnia Caelum Studios València, C.2022, All Rights Reserved)

Abstract art? Really? Well…

I painted the above and then photographed it and “dealt” with it digitally to convert it into an NFT (Non-Fungible-Token). I call it the “Bluester”, because there is a blue rooster in the painting…

So, is it abstract? Being that most of the painting is created with the pure power of colour, I would say yes it is.

Abstract art is not just random colours, lines, drippings or scribbling. Abstract art contains the same problems as figurative. The most difficult aspect of abstract art is that the reference is internal, within the mind’s eye of the artist.

Abstract art has to follow the same rules as figurative. The artist must search, investigate and plan the colour, the composition and even the “style”, as there are differences…

Let me know what you think, especially if you are an abstract artist.

Art History: (Special Edition) «Virgo Lactans»

(Hera nursing Heracles)

Well, being that today is the Feast Day of the Epiphany (El día de los Reyes Magos en España), I thought I would divert from the timeline of our art history videos and bring this little known part of the history of art. This is the development and the rise of paintings called «La virgen de la leche» or the nursing Madonna. It stems from the early Egyptian religion of Isis and Horus, as well as from Greek and later Roman mythology.

Sundays Oldies on a Wednesday: «Badge» by Cream

Cream – Goodbye (1969, Vinyl) - Discogs
(1969)

Here are the words to a song that was named after a mis-spelling or a confusion created when George wrote «bridge» and Eric, having mis-read it, thought it said «badge» and then went on to name the song «Badge». Therefore the name means nothing reference the words of the song. Regardless of the name, the song is smashing good, a hell of a bloody good one for sure, y’all…

BADGE

Thinkin’ ‘bout the times you drove in my car.
Thinkin’ that I might have drove you too far.
And I’m thinkin’ ‘bout the love that you laid on my table.

I told you not to wander ‘round in the dark.
I told you ‘bout the swans, that they live in the park.
Then I told you ‘bout our kid: now he’s married to Mabel.

Yes, I told you that the light goes up and down.
Don’t you notice how the wheel goes ‘round?
And you better pick yourself up from the ground
Before they bring the curtain down.
Yes, before they bring the curtain down.

Ah Ah Ah, yeh yeh yeh
Ah Ah Ah, yeh yeh yeh

Talkin’ ‘bout a girl that looks quite like you.
She didn’t have the time to wait in the queue.
She cried away her life since she fell off the cradle.

(Released in 1969)

«Badge» came from Cream’s fourth and last album Goodbye from 1969. When George Harrison and Eric Clapton were in the process of writing the song, and Eric misnaming it, Ringo Starr walked in drunk and told them about the swans that they live in the park…

It must have been fun back in those days with such creative people.

Art History: The Spanish Renaissance in Paintings

Welcome back to our series on art history. We continue with some painters of the Spanish Renaissance. And we hope that this will provoke you to seek more, research more and investigate. Art history is very important to both artists, who need to know it and know it well, and to art collectors or lovers of art who will appreciate the art they love so much more. We would like to feature the Renaissance art of other European countries, if there are many likes to videos like this one. So if you promise to give us a like, we promise to continue with the series. Stay in touch.

Cheers…

Poem: “The World is Small and Far Away”

(Image: Art Digital by FBC, Omnia Caelum Studios València, C.2022, All Rights Reserved)

The world is far away and very small,

forever fills my eyes with little visions,

the strangeness of it all creates illusions,

of those that were once big and now are small.

We drift, we float, we swim when high tide conquers

the million grains of sand that plague our shores,

and then we rest, we drink, we smoke, we chase the thunder,

while Earth finds new beginnings, and humble souls do soar…

We all want more of those bright rays of light…

We all want more of that sweet taste of honey…

We all want more caresses, kisses, hugs…

We all want one more day, clean, bright and sunny…

We strive to be like those that pray and listen,

and learn,

and find true wisdom,

and then, when pure of heart and free from all our chains,

we find the way that God laid out for us to follow,

we’ll leave behind this small, flat world and drift so free above the deep dark hollow.

Poem: “And if I don’t Believe You?”

(Photo property of FBC, Omnia Caelum Studios València, Art Digital, All Rights Reserved)

You who come like lightning in the night skies…

You who are the symbol of “the” truth…

You who light the way when evening’s sun dies…

You who guided my first thoughts from youth…

You who claim the high ground of morality…

You who are the champion right or wrong…

You that strokes our egos and our vanities…

Tell me when to sing a brand new song…

You that tells me what to think and smiling,

pat my shoulder, wink at me and nod,

what would you say if I told you quite frankly,

I don’t believe a single word you spoke…

Poem: “FENESTRA”

(Foto propiedad de FBC, Omnia Caelum Studios València, Derechos Reservados)

Si pudiera un día volar,

saldría volando sonriente,

complacido,

reluciente.

Alucinados, dementes,

por la ventana la gente saldría volando también,

y en los vientos saludarnos,

en los aires encontrarnos,

volando libre con fe.
