#poem, I Am Very Happy to Bring You a Bit of: «Hidden in Childhood»

(2023)

For those of you who still have not purchased your copy of this phenomenal anthology, filled with the work of so many wonderful writers, poets, artists, I will give you a preview of one very beautiful poem included in the book.

GOD’S GRACE

Love arrives like a cloud ballet, holding serenity like pearls smiling

naivety reveals me no longer faceless, for forgiveness dwells within

clear as crystals, I am not a starling to make patterns for your dresses

my wings tremble not for you, yet I embed your words in memory

no longer do I need a reservoir of tears, my eyes scream no longer

cypress trees, ponds, and crawdads sing of a lover’s pale blue path

injustices touch many, my heart is not callous, for faith is my rock

resilient as mountains that slice borders yet greet soft pigments of sunrise

owls call to the stars to bring compassion to end suffering and pain

riding with strength of the majestic gypsy horse with quilled heels

smelling the scents that hover over the sands of oceans, I am at peace.

HIDDEN IN CHILDHOOD is a most phenomenal anthology released this past January (2023) by Literary Revelations and edited by Gabriela Marie Milton, a beautiful poet whose work can be seen in her blog Short Prose.

A Most Phenomenal Anthology…

This anthology is a total and complete delight! Editor Gabriela Marie Milton, owner and director of Literary Revelations, has edited a most interesting, haunting, touching, emotional and powerful group of poems that speak of the days of our youth. The book is currently a bestseller in Amazon. I am proud to know some of the writers whose work are included in the book and I can say that their poetry is phenomenal, all of the poets are. I salute them and congratulate them, all of them, beginning with Gabriela, whose effort, dedication and hard work made this anthology a reality. Cheers Gabriela and Literary Revelations for this magnificent work!

#music, A Song That Makes Me Recall…

(Les Zeppelin/Photo RTVE.es)

This was «THE» band back in the day! The days of phenomenal music! The days of creating and developing rock with its aesthetics, rebelliousness, simplicity and utter desperation. This song, «Good Times Bad Times» inspired me to write one of the poems that has now become part of an incredible anthology, «Hidden in Childhood», published by Literary Revelations and edited by Gabriela Marie Milton.

Cheers…

#poem, «A mis naranjas verdes»

A MIS NARANJAS VERDES

sonriente y complacido,
siempre pensando y sin dudar,
que jamás seré vencido”.

#art, A conocer esta fotógrafa – Get to Know This Woman Photographer

(Foto/Photo MP/Leemage/The New York Times)

Annemarie, photographer, author, journalist, who with her androgynous look managed to fit in so well to the bohemian Berlin of the time, was born in Switzerland in 1908. She died quite young, in 1942, from a head injury received in a fall… She published many articles and as well published her photo-journalism accounts of early WWII. She studied in Zürich and in Paris and reveived her doctorate from the University of Zürich at the age of 23 years. At the time she published her first novella titled «Freunde um Bernhard» (Bernhard’s Circle) which was quite well received… In 1937 and in 1938 here photographs documented the rise of fascism in Europe. She travelled to the United States with her friend, the North American photographer Barbara Hamilton-Wright. They travelled to the southern states and she was able to document photographically the poverty and the misery of the people of these regions.

A great female artist that, lamentably and although she has done historical things, is not recognised as she should be. This trend has to change and I am here to do whatever I can to change it and to give women artists the recognition that they deserve and demand that they should be placed in the museums of the world.
