#poema «Que bello y como impresiona»

Mientras más bellos más tontos,
acariciando la amnesia,
van los alumnos del cura,
buscando locos la iglesia.

Cantan el son del futuro,
futuro negro de blancos,
igualitarios, idiotas
beben casalla en los bancos.

Van por las fuentes del pueblo,
vertiendo putrefacciones,
cantando internacionales,
de los podridos traidores.

Arrastrando el monigote
de un hombre pobre y honrado
hasta llegar a las calles
de un verde y limpio poblado.

Allí destierran al pijo
que se ha criado a su lado,
entre montones de libros,
leídos, no asimilados.

Y sigue el baile en congreso,
y el guateque en el palacio
con las discordantes notas
del canto de los idiotas,
logran convencer al tonto,
pero no al de las pelotas.

#poem «Beautiful and Quite Impressive Too»

(Photo by FBC, Art Digital, Omnia Caelum Studios Valencia, All Rights Reserved)

When I hear those who say they fight,
that they struggle,
that they want things right,
and they glue their hands upon the walls
of museums and paintings of old,
and smile while ‘comrades’
with smart phones
take videos,
I just want to drag them through thorns…

When I hear those in power say
they understand the little guy,
the poor unfortunates who cry,
they know the struggles of their days,
And that they feel the blood and sacrifice
of those they send to kill and die,
and then if some should return home,
they leave them homeless and alone,
I want to throw them in a hole
and fill it up with honey
and let the critters of the night
feast upon their flesh, oh such delight…

When I hear preachers scream and shout
of virtuous anger, sins, no doubt,
and tell me that I need redemption,
and only they have the salvation
for my immortal soul,
while they deny the living God
with lustful eyes upon the innocent,
I want to stick their heads in water,
no, not the Holy one they blessed
but in the toilet, such distress,
of the filthy bathroom there behind
the corner gas station…

Oh yes, it is beautiful to dream and quite impressive too…

From the album Aftermath released in 1966 and one of my faves from these lads who share a special, and privileged place, in my list of favourite bands. This was one of the first rock songs…after «Norwegian Wood» by The Beatles…to use a sitar, this time played by Brian Jones, the group’s multi-instrumentalist. The Stones played this song during their 1966 tour and then never again have they played it anywhere.

Cheers…
